Supporting D.A.W.G Dog Rescue

Charity dog walks for D.A.W.G-Dog Rescue
(Dorset Animal Workers Group)

Dorset Animal Workers Group is a local rescue organisation run by Helen Griffiths (pictured below) along with dedicated volunteers.

The charity takes in local dogs as well as those from rescues based in Ireland. Volunteers give their time, houses for dog accommodation cars as dog taxis. They will help all animals but mainly concentrate on dog rescue. Every penny they raise goes towards the high costs of caring for the animals they rescue.

Harbour Tails ran a Charity Dog Walking event 26/27th September 2020. ALL proceeds from dogs walked during this weekend was donated to DAWG-Dog Rescue. In total, Harbour Tails has raised £106; thanks to everyone who signed their dogs up to be walked over this weekend.

Helen Griffiths

Founder of D.A.W.G Dog Rescue.

For over 30 years, Helen has been helping thousands of dogs.

“You can’t spend your life doing nothing if there is something you care about. I also have a good network of rescuers to help me. The most satisfying aspect for me is when I get an update on an abused dog which has found a new home and is happy again. Then I know a great job has been done.” - Helen Griffiths

DAWG Dog Rescue is always on the lookout for foster homes until their rescue dogs find their forver homes.

They are looking for people who have homes with well enclosed gardens and who are at home for most of the day.

The dogs they care for are all different, the only thing they all have in common is that they all deserve a better life!

All food, bedding and vets expenses are paid for by D.A.W.G, so it will not stretch your finances. However fostering can be messy, upsetting and hard work, but the feeling you get from knowing you have made a real difference makes it all worthwhile.

If you could give some care and attention to a recently rescued dog while they await a permanent home, then please contact Helen for more information:
