Qualifications

Dog First Aid:
This year I renwed my canine first aid course in Wareham with Allwinds Dog First Aid. It was a fun day packed full of practical elements taught by Amanda, a qualifed veterinary nurse.

Dog Training & Behaviour:
I completed a course with the “Victoria Stilwell Accademy” - Fundamentals of Dog Training and Behaviour. Victoria is a world-renowned dog trainer.

Competing her course, I learned more about:

  • The philosophies, methods, and understandings which define a progressive, science-based approach to dog training.

  • The canine senses, brain and cognition.

  • How dogs communicate and ways to more clearly ‘read’ your dog.

  • Keys to successful training and an enriching experience for your dog.

  • How to tackle challenging behaviors.

NEW - Join the Harbour Tails Poo Bag Club!

Would you like Harbour Tails to supply you with earth friendly, compostable and strong poo bags?
I use “Fetch It” bags and able to supply these (to active customers only) for £4.35 per 60 bags (RRP £5.49).

Join the “poo bag club” by submitting the below form. You’ll recieve 60 bags per month which I drop off when I collect your dogs. Subscriptions/deliveries will start in February 2022.

NEW - #ThinkingThursday

If you follow Harbour Tails on Facebook and/or Instagram, you might notice something new for 2022! I’m calling it #ThinkingThursday.

Realistically not every Thursday, but regular Thursdays, I will post ‘chin scratching’ content/questions to get us thinking. This week we had “Do Dogs Feel Guilt?”

The next installment will be about “Giving Dogs Choice”.

If there is something you would like to see discussed on an installement of #ThinkingThurday, I would love to hear from you! Just send me a text/whatsapp..

Charitable Causes

In 2021 Harbour Tails donated £635 to charity.
- £425 of this was raised through fundraisers (charity walks and a dog biscuit sale) where generous Harbour Tails customers conated to the causes. Thank you so much!
- £210 was donated by Harbour Tails directly.

The charities we supported this year were:
- Margaret Green Animal Rescue, Dorset
- Waggy Tails Rescue, Dorset
- DAWG Dog Rescue, Dorset
- Service Dogs UK

We hope to be able to continue donating to animal charities during 2022.

Recommended Reading

If you’re looking for something to read this year, I recommend “Chaser : Unlocking the Genius of the Dog Who Knows 1000 Words”.

Chaser was a Border Collie with the largest tested memory of any non-human animal. Together, Dr. Pilley and Chaser changed the field of dog intelligence using the power of play and positive reinforcement.

The Boring Stuff… Terms & Conditions

Its time to ask you to refresh yourselves over the Harbour Tails Terms and conditions below. They are the same that you agreed to when originally registering your dog to Harbour Tails. However please read through again to refresh your memory and tick at the bottom to confirm you have read and accepted. Thank you so much for your time.

Thank you so much for reading. As always, if you have any questions just let me know.

Lots of love, Dani & Cali
